Community Guidelines

Last updated: May 2026

Cobucket is built for people who want to connect, learn, and create around shared interests. These guidelines define the standards that keep our community safe, respectful, and valuable for everyone. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or a permanent ban.

What's Allowed

Share original content you own or have permission to post

Build communities around your genuine interests

Engage in respectful discussion and healthy debate

Promote your work, projects, and ideas honestly

Support and collaborate with other creators

Report content or users that violate these guidelines

Prohibited Content and Behaviour

Hate speech

Content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.

Harassment and bullying

Repeatedly targeting a person with unwanted contact, threats, insults, or content designed to intimidate or distress them.

Spam

Repetitive, unsolicited, or automated messages. Mass posting identical content. Fake engagement (likes, followers, views).

Impersonation

Creating accounts or content that falsely represents another person, brand, or organisation with intent to deceive.

Explicit content

Sexually explicit material unless posted in a channel that has been explicitly designated and approved for adult content.

Illegal content

Content that promotes, facilitates, or depicts illegal activity including but not limited to drug trafficking, weapons, fraud, or violence.

Doxxing

Publishing another person's private information (address, phone number, workplace, etc.) without their consent.

Misinformation

Deliberate sharing of false or misleading content that could cause real-world harm, particularly around health, safety, or elections.

Copyright infringement

Posting content you do not own or have a right to share without proper attribution or permission from the rights holder.

Child safety

Any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors will result in immediate account termination and report to law enforcement.

Channel & Group Owners

When you create a channel or group you take on responsibility for moderating its content. This means:

  • Removing posts that violate these guidelines
  • Not allowing your community to become a space for coordinated harassment
  • Marking your channel as NSFW if it contains adult content (where permitted)
  • Responding cooperatively to moderation actions from our team

Channels or groups that consistently violate these guidelines may be removed even if individual posts are reported separately.

Enforcement

We apply a graduated enforcement approach based on severity and frequency:

Warning

First minor violation. Content is removed and you receive a warning notice.

Temporary suspension

Repeated minor violations or a moderate violation. Account suspended for 1–30 days.

Permanent ban

Severe violations (e.g. child safety, illegal content, coordinated abuse) or repeated suspensions.

We reserve the right to skip steps for severe violations. Decisions can be appealed by emailing appeals@cobucket.app within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.

Reporting Violations

If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it using the Report button found on every channel, group, card, and message. We review all reports within 24 hours.

For urgent safety concerns (e.g. credible threats of violence, child exploitation) email us immediately at safety@cobucket.app.

False reports are also a violation. Deliberately reporting content you know does not violate these guidelines in order to harass another user may result in action against your own account.

Questions

These guidelines should be read alongside our Terms of Service. For questions email community@cobucket.app.
